The 10th Africa Conference on SHR was a landmark moment bringing together feminist activists, Governments, UN Agencies, development partners and civil society from across the Continent to learn, connect and build consensus to end violence against women and girls in our lifetimes.
Spanning six days, including a Girls’ Summit and Youth Pre-Conference, and making history on the Continent, see the conference highlights, headlines and content links in the Overview.
ACSHR was hosted by Purposeful, the feminist hub for girls’ organising and activism, rooted in Sierra Leone and working all around the world. We believe that another world is not only possible, it is already being built right here and now in the way girls organise and imagine with each other, pushing us all a little further towards liberation.
The conference was convened by the African Federation for Sexual Health and Rights, in partnership with the Government of Sierra Leone and international collaborators. After two years of a global shadow pandemic for women and girls, this was a critical milestone for human rights and gender justice on the Continent to reconvene and re-commit to shared goals, principles and promising practices towards ending sexual and gender-based violence.
